Minerals and Metallurgical Processing Journal - How to submit to MMPJ

Minerals & Metallurgical Processing Journal is a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal published by the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Engineering, Inc. (SME). For over 28 years, MMPJ has brought the latest research on new developments in communition, flotation, grinding, leaching, separation, classification, environmental remediation, modeling and other critical mineral processing techniques to a unique audience of academic, industry and government researchers. MMPJ particularly encourages submissions from industry and government researchers.

MMPJ uses the online peer review system Scholar One. Papers are typically published within four to eight months of acceptance and fall into one of four types:

  • Scientific reports. The bulk of MMPJ's papers fall into this category. Papers are typically 5 to 7 pages long in published form and address an important and novel subject within the field.
  • Special issue papers. Once a year, MMPJ publishes a special issue on a single topic, exploring an important area of minerals and metallurgical processing in more breadth and depth. Past special issues have focused on the processing of gold, phosphate, copper and industrial minerals. To inquire about upcoming special issues, check out MMPJ's Call for Papers page or contact the Editor-in-Chief Komar Kawatra.
  • Invited features and reviews. Typically, review papers are solicited from leaders in the field, but they may be submitted through the regular submission system as well.
  • Technical notes. These papers are typically shorter and smaller in scope than scientific reports.

To submit a paper to MMPJ (including invited features, special issue papers, technical notes and scientific reports), you will need to work through our online peer review system Scholar One.
